About The Position

The server is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all guests in a prompt and friendly manner, maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant, processing payments and following all laws and regulations regarding liquor service. Hunter is Concorde Group’s newest venture—an exciting opportunity for those eager to build new relationships and be part of opening a brand-new restaurant. Requirements

  • A minimum of one year experience serving or bartending in a comparable environment.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with team members, partners, and customers.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
  • Possesses basic math and cash handling skills, and ability to operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Valid Alberta ProServe certification obtained within 30 days of starting.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for up to eight hours.
  • Capacity to safely lift and easily maneuver potentially heavy trays of food and drinks.
  • Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a prompt and welcoming manner.
  • Accurately Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in point-of-sale system and ensure order modifications are relayed to the kitchen and bar.
  • Possess an extensive knowledge of all food and beverage items being served in the venue and the ability to accommodate all dietary requests and allergies.
  • Inform guests of all specials and menu changes and make quality recommendations to all guests.
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
  • Quality check tables to ensuring guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Address guest complaints with poise, professionalism and understanding. Establish a suggested resolution and communicate effectively with management.
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers in peaks of business or as unexpected situations arise.
  • Gauge preparation of final bill in accordance with guest cues, present correct checks, and process payment in a timely fashion. Provide accurate change as necessary.
  • Genuinely thank all guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Ensure section is clear and reset through service.
  • Perform side duties which may include, but is not limited to: polishing cutlery, glassware, plate ware, during and at the end of your shift
  • Maintain cleanliness of all service areas.
  • Be available to provide support as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the general manager or manager in charge.
  • Complete cash out at the end of the shift.
  • Execute ad-hoc tasks are required.
