Position Overview: As a Server at the luxurious Hotel Effie, Autograph Collection's Ovide Restaurant, you will deliver exceptional service in an upscale dining environment. You will be responsible for providing a memorable dining experience by offering detailed menu knowledge, courteous service, and attention to guests’ needs.
Requirements
- Previous fine dining or upscale restaurant experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wine and cocktail pairings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with grace and professionalism.
- A strong customer service orientation with attention to detail.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required in a fine dining setting.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 8 hours or more.
- Capable of lifting and carrying trays, glassware, and dishes weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Requires the use of hands and arms for setting tables, carrying plates, and performing other service-related tasks.
- Must have physical stamina to perform repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift.
- Ability to move efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak service times.
- Must be able to see and read orders, distinguish different types of food, and hear guests’ orders clearly.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized, attentive service to all guests, ensuring a fine dining experience that exceeds expectations.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine pairings to guide guests in their selections.
- Accurately take and process food and drink orders, ensuring prompt and efficient service.
- Set up and maintain dining areas, including table settings, before, during, and after service.
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow servers to ensure a smooth flow of service.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
- Suggest additional menu items and wine pairings to enhance the dining experience.
