About The Position

As a Host/Hostess at Hotel Effie, you’ll be the face of our dining experience—welcoming guests with warmth, managing reservations, and ensuring every visitor feels like a VIP from the moment they arrive. You’ll be the liaison between our guests and the seamless service we pride ourselves on.

Requirements

Friendly, outgoing, and guest-focused personality
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous hosting or customer service experience is a plus
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and time-management skills
Team player willing to assist in other roles when needed
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Able to stand and move for up to 8 hours at a time
Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
Ability to bend, lift (up to 50 lbs occasionally), and perform repetitive motions
Must be able to see, hear, and communicate clearly

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and make them feel welcome
Manage reservations, create waitlists, and provide accurate wait times
Escort guests to tables and communicate server rotation to ensure smooth service
Maintain a tidy and inviting front-of-house area
Assist with bussing tables as needed to support the team
Learn and describe menu items, specials, and restaurant offerings
Collaborate with the team to manage guest flow during peak hours
Complete opening/closing side work and general cleaning duties
Offer outstanding customer service with a positive attitude and professional demeanor
