Server (J1 Work & Travel)
About The Position
Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a Server for the J1 Work & Travel program at Chatham Bars Inn, a Forbes Five-Star resort located in Chatham, Massachusetts. Chatham Bars Inn is a historic oceanfront resort offering luxurious accommodations, authentic Cape Cod experiences, and a renowned culinary program with six dining options. The resort is situated on 25 oceanfront acres and features 217 rooms and suites, a private beach, oceanfront pool, bike rentals, bonfires, tennis courts, a spa, and a Kids Crew program. The on-site farm supplies produce to the Inn's restaurants, and farm-to-table dinners are offered weekly. The Server will be responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences to guests, ensuring high standards of service and adherence to Chatham Bars Inn Standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year experience necessary
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work for long hours
- Servers should also be well groomed
- Superior organizational skill
- Can work well in a team setting
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment
- Follows direction well
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Being flexible with schedules and hours (including weekends & holidays)
- Able to work with cleaning chemicals/products
- Current TIPS Alcohol Certification or comparable alcohol service certification
Nice To Haves
- Fine dining service preferred
- Availability to work through the fall preferred
Responsibilities
- Greeting and welcoming guests at assigned tables
- Assisting guests with their orders
- Announcing current menu and daily specials and fully and easily explaining menu items and ingredients
- Promptly serving food while ensuring quality and accuracy of orders
- Attending to guests throughout their dining experience
- Maintaining cleanliness of the restaurant
- Delivering bill requests
- Ensuring proper methods of payment from guests
- Performing other tasks as assigned
- Performing all duties and adhering to the Chatham Bars Inn Standards
