About The Position

The Part Time Server is responsible for delivering a highly personalized, anticipatory, and detail-oriented dining experience that reflects Firmdale Hotels’ luxury standards. This role requires a strong command of food, beverage, and service techniques, ensuring each guest interaction is seamless, refined, and memorable while consistently exceeding expectations.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds safely and efficiently
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, including bending, reaching, and carrying trays

Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, attentive, and intuitive service, anticipating guest needs and preferences at all times
  • Maintain a polished, professional, and courteous demeanour in all guest and team interactions
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork by supporting servers, back servers, and all hotel colleagues to ensure seamless service execution
  • Confidently guide guests through the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and upselling in a natural, guest-focused manner
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of all menus, ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and the wine and beverage programme
  • Ensure all food and beverage orders are accurately entered into POS systems (Micros) and delivered according to proper service standards and timing
  • Pace and coordinate courses effectively to support kitchen and bar operations while enhancing the guest experience
  • Uphold all allergy and dietary restriction protocols with precision and care
  • Execute proper table maintenance, clearing, and resetting with attention to detail and efficiency
  • Ensure all charges are accurate and assigned to the correct guest checks
  • Complete all assigned side work and opening/closing duties to the highest standard
  • Maintain immaculate mise en place and service areas at all times
  • Adhere to all New York City Health Department standards, food safety regulations, and hotel policies
  • Address and resolve guest concerns with professionalism, escalating to management when necessary
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication with kitchen, bar, and all hotel departments to ensure operational excellence
  • Take ownership of punctuality, reliability, and overall performance standards
  • Uphold exceptional grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards in line with luxury hospitality expectations
  • Act as an ambassador of Crosby Street Hotel and the Firmdale Hotels brand
