About The Position

The Server enhances the guest experience by recommending and serving food and beverages according to Smith & Wollensky’s high-quality standards. As one of guests’ primary contacts, the Server interacts directly with them to take orders, provide menu recommendations, and deliver food and beverages promptly and accurately while maintaining a friendly and attentive demeanor.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle cash and paperwork accurately.
Good judgment.
Knowledge of Smith & Wollensky’s menus, policies, and procedures.
Proficiency with a Point-of-Sale system.
Good manners, proper personal hygiene, a positive attitude, and promptness.
Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume restaurant setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a restaurant or customer service role is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders.
Explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods, and ask guests about allergies.
Enter food and beverage orders accurately into the POS system.
Provide attentive, personalized service and anticipate guests’ needs.
Check on guests during meals to ensure satisfaction and address requests or concerns.
Refill drinks, clear plates, and reset tables.
Help tidy tables, clear leftovers, set up stations, and maintain a pleasant dining area.
Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Present bills and process payment transactions accurately and quickly.
Participate in pre-shift meetings and training sessions as required.
Collaborate with fellow servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
