About The Position

Rock Creek in Ankeny, Iowa, is hiring a part-time Server. The Server helps create a welcoming, home-like dining experience for residents by greeting and engaging them, preparing for meal service, keeping the dining area clean, and communicating observations about residents’ eating habits and attendance to supervisors and Wellness staff. The position is scheduled Mondays and Sundays from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pay is $16–$20.50 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th-grade proficiency.
Have a positive, energetic attitude and enjoy working with residents.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop throughout the day.
Frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

Greet residents, help them feel welcome, and remain present in the dining room to mingle, entertain, and foster connections.
Prepare for meal service by setting tables, preparing salads for the next meal, and rolling silverware.
Bus tables and sweep floors to keep the community dining area tidy.
Communicate with supervisors and Wellness staff when residents have poor dietary habits, unusual appetite changes, or are absent from meals.
Assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, and assist people after a fall.
