About The Position

Responsible for providing the highest standards of service to the guests, proper maintenance of dining rooms and equipment, correct ringing of orders to insure correct billing of guests, and breakdown/reset of dining rooms after times of service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience in restaurants as a server in an upscale restaurant.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to remember orders with accuracy.
  • Ability to operate Micros POS system or equivalent system.
  • Ability to memorize menu items and wine list.
  • Ability to write legibly.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in close proximity to others.
  • Ability to exercise patience and diplomacy
  • Ability to provide service efficiently and expediently while conveying a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work in a cohesive team environment.
  • Ability to work standing, walking throughout the entirety of a shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
  • The ability to serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Clocks within 7 minutes on either side of your scheduled start time at central services.
  • Arrive at your work area within 15 minutes of your posted schedule start time by any means necessary.
  • Checks in with management upon arrival to see if there is any information they should know before starting their shift.
  • Works together alongside fellow servers to set up dining areas for service.
  • Ensures sufficient supply of silverware and linen
  • Sits in pre shift and listens to all notes and information shared by Management prior to service.
  • Checks section and has an understanding of table assignments and parties in your sections.
  • Accepts chit from server when table is sat, looks at name and number of guests in party.
  • Identifies any notes in the chit. Pay special attention to allergies and celebration. Check with management if any clarification is needed.
  • Greets table by name, welcoming to the Oak, stating their first name.
  • Presents menu, explanations of menu items, specials of the day, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
  • Take beverage order and any appetizer order the guest may have.
  • Delivers beverages to the guests who ordered them.
  • Provides wine services if needed.
  • Writes orders on check and memorizes it.
  • Inputs order in Micros POS to kitchen utilizing seat numbers and course lines.
  • Observe guests throughout their dining experience to anticipate guest needs.
  • Clears and resets tables at conclusion of each course, when needed.
  • Completes opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard.
  • Serves and clears food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner.
  • Clears table of any unnecessary items throughout the course of the meal.
  • Offers dessert courses if guests are interested.
  • Ascertains guest's satisfaction and attempts to resolve guests dissatisfaction of service/food. Notifies Management of any issues.
  • Recognizes potential intoxicated, disruptive or undesirable guests and communicates it to Management.
  • Performs other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
