Server, Yoshoku - Waldorf Astoria New York
About The Position
The Waldorf Astoria New York is seeking a Server for Yoshoku, its Japanese dining venue. Yoshoku offers an à la carte menu that reinterprets traditional Japanese culinary practices through a contemporary lens, along with an afternoon Wagashi tea service. The Server delivers attentive food and beverage service and memorable guest experiences in a luxury hospitality setting. This is a Local 6 Union position requiring complete open availability. Schedule restrictions cannot be accommodated, and full-time hours are not guaranteed. Hours and schedules are based on seniority and business needs, may be minimal until seniority is established, and can vary from week to week.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of serving experience in a fine dining luxury environment.
- Knowledge of Japanese cuisine.
- Experience working in a Michelin- and/or Forbes-rated environment is required.
- Complete open availability; schedule restrictions cannot be accommodated.
Responsibilities
- Create a friendly, upbeat experience and proactively make guests’ meals special.
- Learn menu items, promotions, and specials to answer guest questions confidently.
- Take food and beverage orders, enter them into the point-of-sale system, and deliver orders promptly and accurately.
- Keep the food service station stocked, clean, and organized.
- Comply with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-awareness regulations.
