About The Position
The Server supports the hotel’s dining experience by welcoming guests, taking accurate orders, serving food and drinks, and keeping the service area clean and organized. The role requires knowledge of menu items, ingredients, dietary needs, daily specials, and alcohol service guidelines, along with the ability to handle multiple tables and guest requests while maintaining composure during busy periods. Servers also process payments and follow company, security, hygiene, safety, and certification standards. The position is full-time. Candidates should be available to work 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on days between Wednesday and Sunday; the posting also says “2-3,” without clarifying what this refers to. Required state certifications, such as Alcohol Awareness or a Food Handler’s Card, must be obtained and maintained as applicable. The hotel’s onsite Bistro serves breakfast items, Starbucks coffee, and dinner with a full bar.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with guests and coworkers.
- Obtain and maintain any required certifications, such as Alcohol Awareness or a Food Handler’s Card, as required by state regulations.
- Ability to remain on one's feet and perform lifting, bending, and movement throughout the shift.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous hospitality or food and beverage service experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests, take accurate orders, and ensure their needs are met throughout the dining experience.
- Know the menu, including ingredients, dietary needs, daily specials, and alcohol service guidelines, and help guests make informed choices.
- Deliver food and drinks promptly and accurately.
- Manage multiple tables while maintaining smooth service and clean dining spaces, including during high-pressure periods.
- Process transactions, close checks, and follow company and security protocols.
- Keep the service area clean and safe while following hygiene regulations and certification standards.
