About The Position

The Server provides prompt, courteous service to residents and guests in the dining room while supporting the team in promoting residents’ well-being and overall experience. The role reports to the Dining Manager/Executive Chef; the position summary specifies direct reporting to the Dining Manager. This is a non-exempt position with no supervisory responsibilities. Travel is not required. The role is scheduled 7 a.m.–7 p.m., three days a week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Collaborative team player with demonstrated customer service skills.
• Sound organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Dependability and a strong work ethic.
• Appreciation of seniors and understanding of the aging process.
• Basic mathematics skills.
• Ability to routinely sit, stand, walk, handle and feel with hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
• Occasional ability to crouch and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Vision sufficient to see near and far distances.
• Prepared to work with residents who may exhibit disruptive behaviors, including verbal or physical contact issues.

Nice To Haves

• Some experience in a senior care community is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Take written orders from residents for meals, drinks, and desserts; prepare and deliver orders.
• Serve an assigned section of tables during meal periods.
• Bus tables during and after service.
• Clean and reset tables after each meal period, including changing tablecloths as needed and properly placing silverware, glassware, napkins, and plates.
• Perform all tasks safely and sanitarily.
• Assist residents with understanding menu items and making food selections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
