The Server supports healthcare meal service by preparing, portioning, and serving meals according to dietary guidelines; delivering meals to patients; and assisting with basic meal-service needs. The role helps maintain clean, organized kitchen, serving, and dining areas and follows food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements. Servers contribute to a welcoming mealtime atmosphere and support patients, visitors, and staff with friendly, accurate service, including communicating dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the appropriate team members. This position is based primarily at the facility in a kitchen and food-service production environment. Shifts are aligned with the facility’s food-service schedule and may include nights and weekends, but no late nights. The role may be part-time or full-time and is non-exempt. Occasional extended hours may be needed for special events or operational needs, and occasional travel to other locations may be required for coverage or support. On-the-job training is provided; no experience is necessary, although professional food-service experience is preferred. The work involves standing for most of the workday, frequent walking, and handling food, tools, and equipment. Team members may need to lift and move up to 50 pounds, including while turning side to side, and may be exposed to hot and cold temperatures near cooking and refrigeration equipment. The noise level may be moderate to loud during meal service.
