About The Position

Ojo Santa Fe Spa Resort in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is seeking an enthusiastic Server to join their team. The Server will play a key role in delivering exceptional service, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring every dining experience reflects the warmth and hospitality of the resort. The position involves providing attentive, personalized, and professional service throughout the guest's dining experience, from greeting guests to delivering meals with care. Successful Servers are proactive, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and passionate about hospitality, working collaboratively with culinary and service teams to create seamless dining experiences while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Server, preferably in hospitality, fine dining, resort, spa, or farm-to-table environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit required prior to hire.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate guest needs.
  • Punctual, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with team members to ensure an outstanding guest experience.
  • Ability to adapt and perform effectively in an environment where business levels and pace may vary.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often eight (8) or more hours per shift.
  • Ability to reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, visual attention, and auditory focus.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism.
  • Guide guests through menu selections by describing menu items, chef specialties, ingredients, and beverage pairings.
  • Answer questions regarding food preparation and ingredients.
  • Identify and accommodate special dietary needs, allergies, and guest preferences.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful, attentive service throughout the dining experience.
  • Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders.
  • Communicate guest preferences, dietary restrictions, and special requests to kitchen and bar staff.
  • Monitor meal pacing and coordinate timing with culinary teams.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly, accurately, and professionally.
  • Ensure all orders meet guest expectations before serving.
  • Maintain table settings throughout service by clearing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and addressing spills or service needs promptly.
  • Prepare dining areas by setting tables with linens, silverware, glassware, condiments, decorations, and other service items.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment.
  • Present and process guest checks accurately.
  • Accept payments and handle cash, credit card transactions, and gratuities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Adhere to all health, sanitation, safety, and food handling standards.
  • Follow all alcohol service regulations and resort policies.
  • Maintain a valid New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit and have it available while working.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow Servers, bartenders, hosts, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment focused on exceptional guest experiences.
  • Support fellow team members during busy periods and special events.
