About The Position

The Server focuses on guest service, hospitality, and engagement. The role builds relationships with guests by following service procedures, demonstrating menu knowledge, and making descriptive suggestions to provide a satisfying dining experience and support incremental sales growth. Servers welcome and care for guests, communicate specials and menu changes, take and enter food and beverage orders, coordinate with server assistants, and monitor the dining experience. They maintain their service station, respond to guest requests, handle bills and payments, support teammates, and perform other duties as assigned to help ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Strong knowledge of dining room service procedures and functions.
Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while delivering on guest service expectations and contributing to a team-focused environment.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Welcome and greet guests, follow service procedures, and help guests feel comfortable and well cared for.
Inform guests of specials, menu changes, value-driven menus, and promotions.
Recommend food and beverages guests may enjoy, including cocktails, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers, salads, entrees, side dishes, and desserts.
Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant functions and services.
Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system for the kitchen and bar.
Direct and assist server assistants with timely delivery of food and beverages.
Perform assigned side work at the start and end of each shift.
Maintain table settings and a clean, well-kept service station.
Monitor guests’ dining experiences, anticipate and accommodate needs, and attend to beverage refills and meal pacing.
Inform managers promptly of issues or potential issues and ensure guests are satisfied with food and service.
Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.
Prepare and present checks, accept payment, process credit card charges, and make change when applicable.
Assist fellow servers and help teammates clear and reset tables as needed.
Thank guests for visiting and invite them to return.
Fill in as needed to support efficient restaurant operations, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
