About The Position

The Server focuses on guest service, hospitality, and engagement. The role builds relationships with guests by following service steps, applying menu knowledge, and making descriptive suggestions to provide a satisfying dining experience and encourage incremental sales.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Strong knowledge of dining room service procedures and functions.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Ability to work standing for long periods.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while delivering on guest service commitments and contributing to a team-focused environment.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests, using the steps of service to help them feel comfortable and well cared for.
• Inform guests about specials and menu changes, and promote value-driven menus and promotions.
• Recommend food and beverages guests may enjoy, including cocktails, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers, salads, entrees, side dishes, and desserts.
• Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant functions and services.
• Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system for the kitchen and bar.
• Direct and assist server assistants with delivering food and beverages to guests in a timely manner.
• Perform assigned side work at the start and end of each shift.
• Maintain table service and keep the assigned station properly set and maintained.
• Monitor the guest dining experience, anticipate and accommodate needs, attend to beverages and meal pacing, and promptly inform managers of issues or potential issues.
• Ensure guests are satisfied with food and service and respond promptly and courteously to requests.
• Prepare and present guest bills, accept payment, process credit card charges, and make change when applicable.
• Assist fellow servers and help teammates clear and reset tables as needed.
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
• Fill in as needed to support smooth restaurant operations as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
