About The Position

The Server / Waitstaff helps ensure residents enjoy great service and delicious meals. Working closely with the Culinary Director, this role helps move dishes smoothly from the kitchen to the table while creating welcoming connections with residents. The position is full-time, with a mix of shifts from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and includes some weekend shifts. There are no late nights. Candidates must have prior serving experience; dementia experience is a plus. Applicants must show valid proof of full COVID-19 vaccination before starting work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days of starting, unless granted an approved exemption. Criminal background screening is required.

Requirements

Prior serving experience is required.
Be friendly and approachable so guests feel welcome.
Maintain a positive attitude, especially during busy periods.
Be patient and understanding when customers have requests or concerns.
Notice and address cleanliness needs to help keep the dining area tidy and safe.
Provide valid proof of full COVID-19 vaccination before commencing work or commit to obtaining full vaccination within 30 days of commencing work, unless an approved exemption is received.
Complete criminal background screening.

Responsibilities

Check that dishes are presented properly before serving them to residents.
Greet and speak with residents in a friendly manner, share the daily menu, and ensure they are satisfied.
Keep the kitchen and dining room clean and follow food-safety rules.
Communicate special requests clearly to the kitchen.
Reset the dining room after each meal and maintain its appearance.
