About The Position

The Server Repair Tech will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and replacement of parts on servers sent for diagnosis and repair. This role involves daily responsibilities such as inspecting, testing, and diagnosing servers, replacing parts as needed, and conducting and analyzing server stress tests. The technician will document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in the shop floor tool and collaborate with various teams including motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, whole unit repair, and inspections personnel. The role also requires providing backup for QC, inspection, whole unit repair, and motherboard testing, as well as managing parts consumption. Additionally, the Tech - L3 Server Repair is expected to contribute to team building and leadership by maintaining a positive work environment and collaborating with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, and receiving, while following processes for system and parts management.

  • Know how to assemble components to make server functional
  • Run and understand testing diagnostics
  • Understand basic networking architecture
  • Understand basic error codes
  • Able to troubleshoot common server errors and issues
  • Motivated to solve problems
  • Interested in constantly learning about servers and networking
  • Increased understanding of testing and error codes
  • Brings knowledge to enhance trouble shooting and diagnosis of failures
  • Understands end to end flow of server repair process
  • Know Linux commands and be able to use terminals
  • Brings knowledge to enhance trouble shooting and diagnosis of failures
  • High school diploma or equivalent technical experience
  • Certifications in Server support and architecture desired
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing servers
  • Experience with computer tools such as email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair tools
  • Experience with replacing parts on servers
  • Experience with server configuration
  • Good written and verbal skills; needs to document errors and repairs
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer if can read schematics
  • Provides feedback and collaborates with MB repair team
  • Prefer to have worked in a PC or server type of environment

Responsibilities
