Hotel Overview: Located in the heart of downtown Fairmont New Orleans will be an impressive new addition to Fairmont’s luxury portfolio, offering 250 luxury guest rooms, four food & drink venues, a rooftop pool with expansive views of the city, more than 19,000 square feet of function space, and a 10,000 square-foot spa. This property is destined to become an illustrious destination in the Central Business District, nearby the city’s renowned and historic French Quarter.

Requirements

  • Previous Server experience preferred.
  • Previous luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, resort, pool, or lounge experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, spirits, cocktails, and beverage service.
  • Knowledge of New Orleans cuisine and hospitality is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong guest service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to remain polished and composed in a high-volume environment.
  • Professional appearance and polished demeanor required.
  • Previous POS experience preferred; training will be provided.
  • Alcohol awareness certification preferred.
  • Food safety certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in warm and humid weather.
  • Ability to safely navigate poolside and wet surfaces.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must meet applicable Louisiana requirements for alcohol service.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently provide warm, professional, engaging, and personalized poolside service.
  • Welcome guests and establish a genuine connection from the beginning of their experience.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Pool Lounge policies, procedures, service standards, menus, and beverage offerings.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, coffee, specialty beverages, and non-alcoholic selections.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of food offerings, ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and dietary considerations.
  • Confidently guide guests through menu selections and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of New Orleans culinary and beverage culture when engaging with guests.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and communicate special requests, allergies, and modifications.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly while maintaining proper presentation, quality, temperature, and timing.
  • Provide attentive service to guests seated at tables, loungers, cabanas, and designated poolside areas.
  • Maintain awareness of VIPs, repeat guests, special occasions, celebrations, and guest preferences.
  • Anticipate guest needs, including beverage refills, food service, amenities, and other reasonable requests.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the experience and proactively address concerns.
  • Coordinate closely with Bartenders, Barbacks, Runners, Hosts, Culinary, and Management.
  • Assist with VIP experiences, cabana service, special occasions, private events, and hotel functions.
  • Follow all responsible alcohol service procedures and applicable Louisiana alcohol regulations.
  • Monitor guest consumption and exercise appropriate judgment regarding alcohol service.
  • Present guest checks and accurately process payments in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Follow all cash-handling and credit-card procedures.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service stations and guest areas.
  • Clear and reset tables and service areas promptly.
  • Monitor the presentation and cleanliness of assigned poolside areas.
  • Communicate poolside safety, maintenance, or guest concerns promptly to leadership.
  • Maintain knowledge of Fairmont New Orleans amenities, dining outlets, events, services, and local attractions.
  • Assist guests with hotel and local recommendations when appropriate.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings, tastings, training, and departmental meetings.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, side work, stocking, cleaning, and operational responsibilities.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and pool-area safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, pressed, and professional appearance consistent with Fairmont standards.
  • Uphold the luxury hospitality standards and New Orleans spirit of Fairmont New Orleans.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
