About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Food & Beverage Supervisor, contributes to the efficient daily operation of Food & Beverage activities by greeting, serving, and catering to the needs of venue guests and by graciously hosting, taking orders at table, preparing beverage orders, accepting payment, and assisting co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction, in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel. Maintains professionalism in all interactions with internal and external customers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of food service, cashiering, or related experience.
  • A combination of relevant education and related work experience may be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles.
  • Knowledge of cash handling methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards.
  • Skill in operating a cash register and Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of guests.

  • Must obtain and maintain a driver's license and qualify for insurance coverage on company vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Greets restaurant customers and takes food and drink orders.
  • Enters orders into point-of-sale system.
  • Handles cash and provides change.
  • Serves food orders in timely and professional manner.
  • Remains attentive to customers throughout dining experience.
  • Responds to inquiries and makes recommendations regarding menu items and daily specials.
  • Ensures accuracy of guest check and method of payment; operates point of sale, makes change as necessary, and issues receipts to customers.
  • Balances and reconciles computerized and manual reports at end of shift.
  • Performs opening and closing side work as instructed.
  • Sets up tables, trays, and carts.
  • Reports any maintenance or housekeeping discrepancies to management.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
