About The Position

The Server Assistant supports restaurant service by clearing, moving, and setting tables; cleaning tables, chairs, and booths; maintaining restaurant cleanliness; delivering food to guests; assembling and delivering to-go orders when needed; and assisting with bar service. The role works with guests and service staff to support timely, professional service and keeps designated work areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for business. The position requires frequent movement around the restaurant, use of server-station tools and equipment, communication with guests, employees, and management, and frequently moving items weighing up to 30 pounds. Availability to work nights and weekends as needed is required.

Requirements

At least 6 months of related experience in a high-volume, high-energy food and beverage environment.
Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Ability to move about regularly and frequently use server-station tools and equipment.
Ability to communicate with guests, employees, and management.
Ability to move up to 30 pounds frequently.
Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Alcohol service certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Assist guests and servers in a timely and professional manner.
Clean and polish glassware, flatware, and equipment.
Water tables when guests are seated and refill glasses that are half full or less.
Remove dirty items from tables; clean and set tables with silverware, glassware, and china; roll silverware; fill water glasses; and transport food to guests.
Transport dirty dishes, glassware, and silverware from the dining room to the kitchen and/or bar.
Accurately assemble, fill, and deliver to-go orders when necessary.
Keep designated work areas clean and organized.
Stock and replenish products and equipment based on expected business volumes, and complete setup and breakdown duties to department standards.
Sweep and mop floors and perform other assigned cleaning duties.
Support bar staff by clearing dirty dishes and glassware, washing glassware, and stocking ice.
Comply with company, local, state, and national regulations concerning food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, alcohol service, and safety.
Complete other duties as assigned.
