About The Position

This is a part-time Server Assistant position in the Ansley Room, located in Atlanta, GA. The role involves food running and bussing duties. Availability for weekday nights and weekend nights is required. This position is hourly wage only, with no tips or commission.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and drink when necessary.
  • Must be able to pour beverages such as water and wine.
  • Occasional bending.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Weekday nights and weekend nights availability.

Responsibilities

  • Making sure all silverware is clean and ready for use at the beginning of each shift & obtaining more when we are running low
  • Polishing silverware and continuously keeping levels stocked for servers
  • Preparing Soup Station and Expo Line
  • Keeping clean and stocked with supplies- crackers, soup bowls, soup spoons & garnishes as needed.
  • Preparing side stations clean and polished silverware
  • Setting up beverage area in server station
  • Polishing glassware
  • Running food to tables, knowing the locations of the tables and seating numbers
  • Dropping children’s food first, followed by women’s food, then men’s
  • Asking guests if there is anything more you can get them, being conscious of water levels & refilling as necessary, notifying server if wine or other beverage is ordered
  • Bussing tables on the way back to kitchen & during slow ordering times
  • Removing any dirty silverware or plates at table when returning to kitchen & throughout shift
  • Using a tray to buss tables effectively
  • Removing plates and silverware from the right side when convenient keeping in mind what is best not to disturb guest
  • Knowing the menu and being able to recognize every dish
  • Knowing how dishes are garnished and what sides and condiments are required
  • Assisting the culinary team with assembly of orders
  • Understanding how tickets are rung in and being able to spot potential issues proactively
  • Helping pace tables by communicating effectively with the servers and BOH staff
  • Resetting tables, cleaning thoroughly wiping down booth seats, dining chairs, mats and table with sanitizing towel.
  • Resetting table making sure all is square and lined up.
  • Communicating with hostess when table is clean and ready to be sat.
  • Keeping kitchen stations organized and in good condition with full stock of supplies.
  • Having all condiments ready and stocked
  • Having proper items for soup station
  • Having pen/pencil to mark off tickets as items are completed.
  • Cleaning and organizing to go area throughout shift.
  • Making sure to go boxes are stamped and ready
  • At end of shift preparing and making sure back kitchen area is clean and all closing shift duties are completed.
