About The Position
Bar George is a lively and elegant dining destination in the heart of Montréal’s Golden Square Mile, blending historic charm with contemporary energy. The setting is ideal for hospitality professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering polished, personable service and memorable guest experiences. Under the direction of the Front of House Management Team, Server Assistants provide support to Servers by inspecting all tables for the proper mise en place, cleanliness and completeness. They practice a high level of floor awareness and have exceptional knowledge of all food and beverage items. Server Assistants help with food running as well as monitor food quality to ensure O&B presentation standards.
Requirements
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Fluent in English and French
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced setting
- Able to follow directions and prioritize tasks
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Good product knowledge (food, beverages, wine, etc.)
- Ability to maintain a high level of efficiency and responsiveness
- Availability required on weekends and holidays
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
Responsibilities
- Answer guest questions about food, beverages, wine, and other restaurant services
- Assist with food service, ensuring dishes reach the correct table and guests
- Maintain cleanliness in your section and ensure all equipment and materials are organized
- Communicate with servers and hosts to optimize seating and service flow
- Stay alert on the floor and clear or clean as needed
- Ensure condiments are prepped and fridges are stocked with milk, cream, butter, etc.
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards
- Follow all food safety procedures and standards
- Empty trash, replace liners, and manage waste and recycling
- Relay guest comments or information to servers to ensure a positive, memorable experience
- Perform any other duties as assigned
