About the position
We are seeking a Senior/Staff/Principal Engineer to develop management tools for operating our distributed database at scale in the enterprise. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating tools to monitor, manage, and administer the clusters, users, and security. They should have experience with enterprise-level monitoring and management technologies and have built systems at scale with modern tools. Bonus skills include experience with distributed NoSQL databases, other distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and familiarity with Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform.
Responsibilities
- Develop a complete set of management tools for operating the distributed database at scale in the enterprise
- Monitor, manage, and administer the clusters, users, and security
- Deliver a frictionless management tool to fit within leading enterprise IT environments on-premises and in the cloud
- Familiarity with technologies used for enterprise-level monitoring and management
- Built systems at scale with modern tools
- Work with distributed NoSQL databases (bonus skill)
- Work with other distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka (bonus skill)
- Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform (bonus skill)
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience for Senior Software Engineer, 8+ years for Staff Software Engineer, and 12+ years for Principal Software Engineer/Architect
- Proficiency in any programming language like Python/Java/NodeJS/Golang
- Familiarity with technologies used for enterprise-level monitoring and management
- Experience in monitoring systems like Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Tempo
- Experience in cloud monitoring systems like Newrelic, Datadog, Grafana Cloud
- Experience in log analysis tools like Splunk, Logstash, Fluentd, Sumo logic
- Experience in distributed tracing implementation using OpenTelemetry, Jaeger Background in SRE or DevOps
- Bonus skills include experience with distributed NoSQL databases, other distributed systems like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform.
