About The Position

This role involves light typing, faxing, copying, and filing. The Senior Word Processor will operate a computer terminal and personal computer, maintain records (both manually and electronically), and assist with verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness. A key responsibility includes thorough research on questionable data elements and timely entry of changes and updates. The position also assists in preparing case files for shipment to FRC and in closing and packaging files for shipment to the Federal Records Center.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization.
  • US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
  • At least two (2) years of word processing experience.
  • One year of experience in the specific office automation environment required (e.g., JCON 2a, Microsoft Office).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high volume workload setting with ability to complete tasks within specified time frame.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to produce highest quality work under extreme pressure.
  • Skilled in operating a computer terminal and personal computer.
  • Ability to frequently move, sort, and file physical case files, folders and documents.
  • Ability to Lift up to 15 lbs, bend, reach, carry, stoop, kneel, climb, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience assisting with managing a file room is helpful.
  • Prior experience working in a legal office is valued.
  • Basic understanding of court dockets is extremely helpful.
