About The Position

RS&H is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Fort Lauderdale or Miami. This position offers a hybrid work schedule. The engineer will be an integral part of the infrastructure team, serving as a team expert and/or project lead. Responsibilities include preparing project specifications, complete project documents, analysis, and reports; analyzing and interpreting data; performing analyses of design, planning, and impact studies, as well as cost analyses, design requirements, site selection, and limited design layouts. The role also involves designing complete projects, systems, components, and/or processes; preparing project documents, engineering analysis, and reports; performing quality control reviews and ensuring achievement of key milestones; and performing field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects. Additionally, the position may provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior staff, manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams, and/or manage a small team of direct reports.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and minimum 10 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional engineer in good standing
  • Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances
  • Proficient in production software and construction document production
  • Proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner
  • Experience working on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects
  • Providing technical guidance to junior-level staff, including reviewing others' work for technical accuracy
  • Participating in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans that had great impact on the achievement of functional results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders
  • Experience with watershed delineation and determination of hydrological parameters
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using ICPR 4/Stormwise, MIKE-SHE, MIKE-11 or SWMM
  • Experience with drainage analysis and design using Geopak Drainage, Subsurface Utilities Design and Analysis (SUDA) for Open Roads Designer (ORD), and/or ASAD
  • Experience with plans production using Microstation SS10 with Geopak, and/or FDOTConnect for ORD
  • Experience with CADD (Microstation SS10, FDOTConnect for ORD, and/or Civil 3D)
  • Experience preparing FDOT NexGen Plans per FDOT Design Manual (FDM) 900 Series
  • Experience preparing Estimated Quantities Report for quantifying drainage features in ORD
  • Experience using ArcGIS for water resources projects
  • Prior Experience with FDOT D4 & D6 projects
  • Prior Experience with Broward and/or Miami-Dade County projects
  • Experience with Plans, Specifications, and Estimates production
  • Experience as Lead for environmental permit application packages
  • Experience with design-build and/or other alternative delivery projects, including Owner’s Rep role and plans reviews
  • Experience serving as project manager and/or task lead for major water resources projects
