About The Position

The Senior Vice President – Information Technology serves as a visionary, enterprise leader responsible for shaping and executing the Federation’s technology, data, and digital innovation strategy. This role is central to building a cohesive, forward-looking technology ecosystem that advances the Federation’s mission and operational excellence. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer, this leader partners across departments create innovative technology solutions, ensuring systems, data, and processes are aligned to organizational needs, scalable for growth, and optimized for efficiency. This role will play a critical role in driving digital transformation, fostering a culture of collaboration, and embedding data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • 15+ years in IT, data, and digital strategy roles, including 10+ years in senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise technology transformation, CRM strategy, and data/analytics initiatives.
  • Proven experience implementing AI, automation, or advanced analytics solutions in a complex organization.
  • Strong background in business intelligence tools (Power BI required), data modeling, and performance analytics.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise systems, CRM platforms, data architecture, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps and long-term digital strategies.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate across teams and translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Track record of driving innovation, organizational change, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Strong communication and executive presence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi-year IT strategy aligned with the Federation's mission, fundraising priorities, and operational goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Senior Team and Management Team on technology matters, AI and emerging trends, and risks.
  • Translate business needs into clear technology roadmaps with measurable outcomes and ROI.
  • Represent the Federation within the Microsoft Dynamics Collective, contributing to and benefiting from shared best practices, governance frameworks, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Oversee all day-to-day IT operations, including help desk, end-user support, network and telephone, audiovisual systems, and on-site event technology.
  • Manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure ensuring scalability, reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead vendor management, contract negotiation, and strategic partnerships with technology providers and managed service partners.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans appropriate to the Federation's risk profile.
  • Establish and maintain a robust cybersecurity program.
  • Oversee identity and access management, endpoint protection, email security, threat monitoring, and ongoing vulnerability management, leveraging AI-powered security where appropriate.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy regulations and donor data protection standards, including emerging requirements related to AI governance and acceptable use.
  • Lead the strategy, administration, and continuous improvement of Microsoft Dynamics 365 as the Federation's core CRM and donor management platform, including the rollout and governance of Copilot for Dynamics 365 capabilities (Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing/Customer Insights as applicable).
  • Drive adoption and value realization across the Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, AI Builder, and Copilot Studio) for analytics, automation, citizen development, and the responsible deployment of internal AI agents.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 administration, including SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, and collaboration tools, and lead the strategy for AI licensing, rollout, and adoption.
  • Manage integrations between Dynamics 365 and ancillary systems such as financial software, event and registration platforms, marketing automation, and digital giving solutions.
  • Collaborate actively with peers in the Microsoft Dynamics Collective to share solutions, contribute to shared accelerators (including AI use cases), and reduce duplicative effort.
  • Establish data governance policies that ensure the accuracy, integrity, security, and ethical use of donor and constituent data, including data readiness for AI workloads.
  • Develop and operationalize an enterprise AI strategy that identifies high-value use cases, evaluates platforms (AI third-party tools), and balances innovation with risk.
  • Define and enforce a Responsible AI framework covering acceptable use, human-in-the-loop requirements, bias and accuracy monitoring, data residency, vendor due diligence, and donor-facing transparency.
  • Partner with Development, Planning, Marketing, Finance, and Programming teams to deliver actionable insights through dashboards, predictive analytics (donor propensity, retention, planned giving), and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Promote a data-informed and AI-literate culture across the organization, with appropriate training, guardrails, and self-service capabilities.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing IT team with a balance of technical depth, business acumen, and service orientation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and service excellence.
  • Manage the IT budget with discipline and transparency, balancing operational needs with strategic investment.
  • Mentor staff and create career pathways that support both individual growth and organizational capability.
  • Champion a culture of technology adoption, digital fluency, AI literacy, and continuous learning at all levels of the organization.
  • Lead change management initiatives that build user confidence, reduce resistance, and maximize the value of every technology and AI investment.
  • Develop training programs, internal communication strategies, and adoption metrics for major rollouts, platform enhancements, and Copilot deployments.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with department leaders to understand their needs and co-create solutions rather than impose them.
