About The Position

Aleut Federal is seeking an accomplished and growth-oriented Senior Vice President to lead its approximately $150 million Mission and Technology portfolio. This executive will have full responsibility for the portfolio’s strategic direction, operational performance, organic growth, and new-business expansion. The Senior Vice President will lead a diverse organization delivering information technology, digital transformation, cybersecurity, engineering, and mission-support solutions to federal customers. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of the federal technology market, a strong record of leading complex organizations, and demonstrated success growing profitable government-contracting businesses. This position is based in Northern Virginia, with offices in Reston and Rosslyn, and requires regular engagement with customers, industry partners, employees, and other Aleut Federal leaders.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years (required) to 20 years (preferred) of progressively responsible experience leading and growing information technology, engineering, mission-support, or related technology portfolios serving the federal government.
  • Significant executive-level experience with profit-and-loss responsibility for a federal government contracting business or major business unit.
  • Demonstrated success managing a portfolio of comparable scale and complexity.
  • Proven record of achieving profitable organic growth and winning significant federal contracts.
  • Substantial experience supporting Department of Defense customers.
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition practices, contract vehicles, competitive procurements, capture management, proposal development, and contract execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, and geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with forecasting, budgeting, indirect-cost management, investment planning, and risk management.
  • Established relationships and credibility within the federal technology and government-contracting communities.
  • Exceptional executive communication, negotiation, decision-making, and relationship-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering, national security, or a related field.
  • Current Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to possess and maintain the clearance throughout employment.
  • Ability to work regularly from Aleut Federal’s Reston and Rosslyn offices and travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading a portfolio serving both Department of Defense and federal civilian customers.
  • Experience growing a business within the Alaska Native Corporation federal marketplace.
  • Understanding of the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program and the federal contracting authorities and market strategies applicable to Alaska Native Corporations.
  • Experience transitioning an organization from reliance on direct-award opportunities toward sustained competition in the full-and-open federal market.
  • Executive experience in one or more areas such as digital modernization, cloud services, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence, enterprise IT, software development, systems engineering, or mission operations.
  • Experience evaluating or integrating acquisitions, joint ventures, mentor-protégé relationships, or other strategic partnerships.
  • Master’s degree in business, technology, engineering, national security, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute the strategic vision for Aleut Federal’s Mission and Technology portfolio.
  • Serve as a member of Aleut Federal’s senior leadership team and contribute to enterprise-wide strategy, investment decisions, and organizational priorities.
  • Translate corporate objectives into actionable portfolio plans, performance targets, and growth initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of federal technology priorities, acquisition trends, mission requirements, and competitive dynamics.
  • Identify emerging technologies, capabilities, and market opportunities that strengthen Aleut Federal’s value to its customers.
  • Maintain full profit-and-loss responsibility for an approximately $150 million portfolio.
  • Deliver revenue, earnings, cash-flow, and growth commitments while ensuring sound financial and operational controls.
  • Oversee program execution, customer satisfaction, contract performance, workforce planning, and risk management.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold business and program leaders accountable for results.
  • Ensure programs are appropriately staffed, effectively managed, and executed in accordance with contractual, regulatory, security, and quality requirements.
  • Work closely with corporate functional leaders in finance, contracts, human resources, legal, compliance, security, information technology, and business development.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy encompassing organic expansion, recompetes, new contract awards, strategic partnerships, and adjacent-market opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a qualified, achievable pipeline aligned with the portfolio’s capabilities and Aleut Federal’s long-term objectives.
  • Provide executive leadership for capture efforts, solution development, pricing strategies, teaming arrangements, and major proposals.
  • Cultivate enduring relationships with federal customers, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Expand the portfolio’s presence across the Department of Defense and, where appropriate, federal civilian agencies.
  • Leverage the competitive advantages available to Alaska Native Corporation businesses while building sustainable, full-and-open market capabilities.
  • Evaluate potential capability investments, strategic hires, contract vehicles, partnerships, and acquisitions that support portfolio growth.
  • Serve as a senior executive representative of Aleut Federal with federal customers, industry partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of customer missions, challenges, priorities, and acquisition strategies.
  • Strengthen Aleut Federal’s reputation as a trusted, agile, and mission-focused technology partner.
  • Anticipate changes in customer requirements and position the portfolio to respond with differentiated, practical solutions.
  • Maintain an active presence in the federal contracting and technology communities.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing executive and management team.
  • Attract and retain exceptional leaders, technical professionals, program managers, and growth personnel.
  • Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, ethical conduct, innovation, and customer service.
  • Develop succession plans and strengthen the organization’s leadership pipeline.
  • Communicate priorities clearly and create alignment across geographically dispersed teams and business units.
