About The Position

AmeriSave Mortgage is seeking a Senior Vice President of Institutional Investor Relations to build and lead the company's institutional partnership platform. This role involves creating new distribution channels, fostering investor relationships, and developing technology-enabled lending solutions to drive sustainable growth. The position will focus on leveraging AmeriSave's brand and expertise to engage with a diverse range of institutional investors, including credit unions, regional banks, insurance companies, and asset managers, particularly those looking to mitigate the risks and complexities of mortgage origination. Initial efforts will concentrate on specific programs like Closed End Seconds (CES) and Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC), where AmeriSave has a technological advantage. The executive will be a recognized industry peer, well-versed in mortgage origination, including purchase agreements, relationship management, and mortgage principles with a strong emphasis on pricing, compliance, and servicing of mortgage assets. The role requires independent work and workload management, supported by the capital markets team, to create compelling financial solutions for institutional partners and provide ongoing support and performance tracking.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of mortgage experience in management commensurate roles with solid proven experience working with institutional client needs.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how banks, credit unions, and asset managers utilize retained servicing platforms to create tailored value propositions.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting institutional investors (NCUA, OCC, FDIC, insurance Companies, GSE LLPA).
  • Ability to grasp key concepts such as differences between HELOC and CES points and fees testing requirements, and federal, state, and investor-based rules.
  • Working knowledge of pooling and loan delivery and execution basics, and the process of loan sales including the role of warehouse banks and custodians.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to executive committees, boards, and institutional investors.
  • Experience representing an organization at industry conferences and trade associations and participation at events to broaden the AmeriSave brand.

Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with target companies that can benefit from originating loans with AmeriSave, focusing initially on CES and HELOC programs leveraging AmeriSave's technology and compliance expertise.
  • Expand partnership opportunities to include white label options and other programs, maximizing the use of technology for the benefit of the program and customers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between institutional investors and AmeriSave, guiding entities through onboarding and resolving integration challenges.
  • Build contractual agreements that address core principles of compliance and boundaries in the origination process, demonstrating expertise in buy-up/down ratios and MSR valuation.
  • Negotiate complex commercial agreements involving loan purchases, servicing rights, correspondent relationships, or institutional partnerships.
  • Leverage AmeriSave's established brand in secondary capital markets to attract clients and align with companies seeking sustainable growth, ensuring alignment with rating agencies, investors, and warehouse banks.
  • Measure, report on, and track the performance of institutional relationships within the technology framework, ensuring data collection for reporting purposes and coordinating any necessary system expansions.
  • Utilize AmeriSave's proprietary technology to structure unique programs and custom tailor loan origination, convincing clients to use AmeriSave's technology over building their own.
