About the position
The Senior VFX Artist is responsible for independently producing and delivering high-quality visual effects throughout the production process. They will guide and mentor junior artists and serve as a resource for VFX art and best practices. The role involves tackling challenging FX problems, developing solutions, and collaborating across disciplines to propose and implement action plans. The Senior VFX Artist should have fluent knowledge of major 3D packages and be able to create a wide variety of real-time special effects. Additionally, they will collaborate with Art and Engineering teams to offer creative solutions and maintain organized FX and Shader libraries.

Requirements
- 6+ years' experience in AAA video games and at least one AAA shipped title
- Familiarity with video game product development including workflows, tools, particle systems, lighting, high and low poly modeling, texture painting, texture/UV animation, UV layout, in-game sprite animation, material setup
- Fluent knowledge of at least one major 3D package (Maya, Max, Houdini, etc.)
- Create a wide variety of real-time special effects using sprite-based particle systems along with pixel and vertex shaders; e.g., rain, snow, smoke, explosion, destruction, weapon, fire, geometry, surface shader, and full-screen effects
- Collaborate with Art and Engineering teams, offering creative and efficient solutions to help solve performance-related issues
- Maintain clean, organized FX and Shader libraries
- Clearly communicate updates and timely concerns to the production team
- Occasionally support recruitment projects with TA collaboration
- Take on challenging FX problems and develop solutions that consider all variables in a self-sufficient manner
- Break down challenging or open-ended requests into actionable tasks, examine feasible options, autonomously collaborate across disciplines to propose a plan of action, and implement solutions that will satisfy all the stakeholders

- Design and create and integrate user interface
- Provide the user with a positive experience, focusing on the features that the individual interacts with when they play a game
- UI focuses on the visuals of an interface. A UI artist uses their expertise to decide on the interface's palette, texture, style and overall feel
- Skills in 2D package like Photoshop
- Menus, Inventory, Icons, Mini-maps, Character screen, Health bars, etc.
