Senior UX Researcher, Quantitative

Ondo Finance

About The Position

Ondo Finance is hiring a senior quantitative user researcher to build and lead quantitative research across its product portfolio. The user research team works horizontally across the product suite rather than within a single product pod. The researcher will set research strategy with minimal guidance, address high-impact decision-shaping questions across teams, and provide evidence that holds up at scale. The role owns research intake and the quantitative roadmap, translating requests from product, design, go-to-market, and leadership into answerable questions and prioritizing research where evidence can reduce risk. It uses methods such as MaxDiff, conjoint, pre-launch experiments, cognitive interviews, validated measurement scales, and statistical segmentation. The researcher will establish reliable sampling, translation, and fraud controls for a global crypto-native audience; work with data science to connect survey responses with product behavior; and design human evaluations of AI-assisted financial features. The role also presents evidence-based recommendations, supports rapid leadership questions, and establishes standards for lightweight research conducted by product managers and designers.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of UX or applied research experience, including at least 5 years leading quantitative studies end to end, from study design through recommendation.
  • Experience leading quantitative research studies for financial products such as brokerage, trading, banking, payments, wealth, or lending.
  • Ability to operate with minimal guidance, scope ambiguous problems, set priorities, and drive studies to a decision.
  • Deep survey science expertise, including sampling and weighting, instrument design, bias control, data-quality screening, and programming in Qualtrics or similar.
  • Hands-on experience designing and analyzing MaxDiff and/or conjoint studies.
  • Strong applied statistics skills, including regression, power analysis, and experimental and quasi-experimental design.
  • Fluency in R or Python for analysis and visualization.
  • An existing AI-assisted research setup, from drafting survey instruments to writing and reviewing analysis code, with rigorous proofreading and validation of outputs.
  • A track record of quantitative work that changed a product or business decision, and the ability to explain uncertainty clearly to executives and non-researchers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with crypto, onchain, or tokenized-asset products.
  • A master’s or PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, survey methodology, behavioral economics, or marketing science.
  • Expertise in advanced methods such as hierarchical Bayes and simulators, psychometric scale development, segmentation, pricing research, SQL, or multilevel modeling.
  • Experience evaluating AI- or LLM-powered products, including human evaluation design, rubrics, or rater reliability.
  • Research experience across LATAM, APAC, or EMEA markets, including translating survey instruments.
  • Responsible AI-native research workflows, such as using LLM tools to accelerate instrument design, coding open-ended responses, or analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Own research intake and the quantitative research roadmap across product, design, go-to-market, and leadership.
  • Translate ambiguous requests into answerable research questions, determine whether quantitative evidence is appropriate, and prioritize research based on its potential to reduce risk.
  • Use MaxDiff and conjoint to assess which features, benefits, and messages drive decisions.
  • Design pre-launch experiments, set decision rules before fielding, and pretest research instruments through cognitive interviews.
  • Adapt or develop validated scales for trust, perceived security, and comprehension; track them across products and markets.
  • Develop statistically validated and sized user segments from user profiles.
  • Design sampling, translation, and fraud controls for a global crypto-native audience.
  • Partner with data science to connect survey data with product data and behavior.
  • Design human evaluations of AI-assisted finance features, including evaluation rubrics, rater reliability, and comparisons between user trust and system reliability.
  • Present findings as recommendations that communicate effect sizes, confidence, and what evidence could change the recommendation.
  • Answer ad-hoc leadership questions using existing data, quick pulse surveys, or full studies as appropriate.
  • Set standards that enable product managers and designers to conduct sound lightweight surveys and data-driven validation.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, including salary, future token rights, and/or equity according to preference.
  • Full medical, vision, and dental benefits.
  • Flexible vacation policy (PTO).
  • Remote-first team across many countries.
  • Opportunity to be an early team member and help shape the company’s vision, culture, and design practices.
