This is complex technical work involving the application of basic and specialized utility engineering knowledge in both field and office duties requiring sub-professional engineering skills. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Engineering or other assigned professional engineer, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment. The work of this class is distinguished from the class of Utility Engineering Technician by a greater degree and variety of complexity and difficulty in assigned tasks. Supervision may be exercised over other staff as assigned.
