Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Strong knowledge of post-secondary (college/trade) admissions, financial aid, credentialing, and training necessary for future careers.
  • Strong understanding of college admissions, persistence, and post-secondary success metrics
  • Strong knowledge of financial aid systems (FAFSA, Pell Grants, loans, scholarships)
  • Ability to guide students and families in evaluating aid packages and making informed, debt-conscious decisions
  • Experience supporting low-income and first-generation students in accessing and affording postsecondary opportunities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities and large student caseloads
  • Skilled in collaboration, problem-solving, decision-making, and data tracking
  • Demonstrated skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with high school students in a college/career counseling setting preferred
  • Experience in preparing lessons/ presentations, teaching before groups, specifically teaching career awareness workshops and classes, and maintaining classroom disciplinary systems is preferred
  • Experience managing data, using data systems, and reporting data is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the 12th-grade experience, ensuring every senior is prepared for a successful transition to college, trade school, career, or other post-secondary pathways.
  • Provide direct support with applications, financial aid, and key graduation milestones.
  • Monitor student progress, ensure graduation compliance, and implement targeted support to promote on-time graduation and post-secondary success.
  • Lead Senior Programming & Experience: Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for all senior-related programming and initiatives.
  • Maintain consistent communication with students and families regarding senior expectations, deadlines, events, and post-secondary planning.
  • Oversee the full 12th-grade experience to ensure alignment with post-secondary readiness goals.
  • Track and manage senior dues and ensure accountability for required payments.
  • Support the planning and execution of senior events (e.g., prom, senior trip, senior week, and yearbook).
  • Lead planning and execution of CCR events (e.g., College Tour Day, College Fair).
  • Manage logistics, including scheduling, communication, transportation, and vendors.
  • Manage Post-Secondary Applications & Documentation: Lead the postsecondary application process (college and trade), including timelines, submission, tracking, and transcript submission and coordination.
  • Oversee the financial aid process for seniors, including FAFSA, scholarships, and aid package review.
  • Coach students and families on college costs, loan implications, and informed, debt-conscious decisions.
  • Drive outcomes in financial aid completion, scholarship attainment, and affordability.
  • Monitor Graduation Progress & Compliance: Deliver 1:1 support to ensure 100% of seniors have a clear post-graduation plan.
  • Track student progress toward graduation and post-secondary goals.
  • Monitor completion of ACT 158 requirements and key senior milestones.
  • Implement targeted interventions to ensure on-time graduation.
  • Facilitate Senior Coursework & Capstone: Facilitate Senior Seminar focused on post-secondary readiness.
  • Support the Senior Capstone Lead Teacher in the implementation and successful completion of the Senior Capstone Project.
  • Manage and report student data, using data systems.
  • Assist in the administration of testing associated with the college admissions process (SAT, PSAT, Accuplacer and AP exams).
  • Assist in carrying out Credit Recovery for seniors, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
