Senior Track Engineer
About The Position
H&H is seeking a Senior Track Engineer to join its Philadelphia office and contribute to the growth and capabilities of the Passenger Rail & Transit Group. H&H is a nationally recognized, full-service infrastructure engineering firm with more than 139 years of experience and over 600 professionals across 32 offices nationwide. The firm provides services from planning and design through construction and emphasizes technical expertise, continued growth, and investment in its people. The Senior Track Engineer will lead track design work and provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members. The role includes preparing design documents, leading design tasks and alignments using OpenRail Designer, and designing special trackwork. Occasional track inspection and field work may be required. The position is based in H&H’s Philadelphia office.
Requirements
- Six to 15 years of relevant experience.
- BS in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with special trackwork design.
- Fluency with OpenRail Designer.
Nice To Haves
- PE license (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of track design documents, including plans, specifications, quantities, and design calculations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Lead delivery of track design tasks, including horizontal and vertical geometry and modeling using OpenRail Designer software.
- Lead design of track horizontal and vertical alignments, including processing survey data and regression analysis.
- Lead design of special trackwork details for procurement and installation.
- Occasionally perform track inspection and field work as needed.
- Assist in adapting OpenRail Designer workspaces for client-specific standards.
