Senior Track Engineer
About The Position
H&H is hiring a Senior Track Engineer for its New York City office to contribute to the growth and capabilities of its Passenger Rail & Transit Group. H&H is a full-service infrastructure engineering firm with more than 139 years of experience and over 600 professionals across 32 offices nationwide. The firm delivers projects from planning and design through construction and is investing in its people and long-term growth. The Senior Track Engineer will lead track design work and document preparation, provide technical guidance and mentoring, and support track inspections and field work as needed. The role also includes using OpenRail Designer and adapting its workspaces to client-specific standards.
Requirements
- Six to 15 years of relevant experience.
- BS in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with special trackwork design.
- Fluency with OpenRail Designer.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of track design documents, including plans, specifications, quantities, and design calculations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
- Lead delivery of track design tasks, including horizontal and vertical geometry and modeling using OpenRail Designer.
- Lead the design of track horizontal and vertical alignments, including processing survey data and performing regression analysis.
- Lead the design of special trackwork details for procurement and installation.
- Occasionally perform track inspection and field work as needed.
- Assist in adapting OpenRail Designer workspaces for client-specific standards.
