About The Position

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security team is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer in Berkeley, Missouri. The role leads the design, development, installation, qualification, and sustainment of complex production tooling, assembly systems, and special-processing fixtures. It provides technical leadership on tooling strategy across programs, mentors junior engineers, and supports continuous improvement to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives. The engineer leads tooling from concept through production sustainment, defining requirements with design, manufacturing, quality, assembly, test, and supplier teams. The role includes producing specifications, 3D models, drawings, bills of materials, and tooling documentation; assessing tolerances and fit; overseeing fabrication and installation; and integrating automation and metrology where applicable. It also leads analysis and resolution of tooling-related production issues, manages tooling configuration and lifecycle documentation, and contributes to estimating, risk, schedules, and continuous improvement. Candidates must hold a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent and have advanced 3D CAD proficiency, deep knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing and inspection methods, and experience leading cross-functional work. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance is required after starting. U.S. citizenship is required for the clearance and program access, and the role must meet U.S. export-control requirements. Boeing will not sponsor employment visas.
