About The Position

Pratt & Whitney’s Holt, Michigan facility is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to ensure the design, manufacture, readiness, and continuous quality of tools, fixtures, and gages that support reliable production across its sites. The engineer will lead full-lifecycle tooling activities, from concept and design through vendor sourcing, installation, commissioning, prove-out, and standardized handover, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Program Management to meet technical expectations and process requirements. The role involves designing molds and dies for aerospace components made from sheet metal and fiber-reinforced composites, as well as jigs and fixtures for composite laminated structures, bonded metal components, and complex aerospace assemblies. The engineer develops assembly and detail models and performs dimensional verification using Pro/Engineer or UG/NX, with strong NX competency. The role also supports tooling specifications and procurement, supplier selection, build schedules, shop-floor prove-out, tooling quality reviews, standardized processes for the Plant 5 Tooling Crib and industrial 3D printer management, and ISO9001/AS9000 documentation. This is an onsite, U.S.-based role. U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract. No security clearance is required.
