We are looking for a motivated Senior Machinist to join our team in our Buffalo, NY location.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferably from a vocational or technical school)
  • Formal trades training in machining, tool and die, or a related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Broad knowledge of electricity, shop practices, principles of mechanics, and material properties
  • Ability to apply advanced shop mathematics, trigonometry, and handbook formulas; interpret oral instructions, complex drawings, specifications, and sketches
  • Proficient in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring instruments, including dial indicators, micrometers, levels, protractors, surface gauges, and height gauges
  • Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in machining and tool and die applications

Responsibilities

  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications to plan and machine precision components using available equipment, achieving tight tolerances and meeting established production timelines.
  • Independently set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC lathes, milling machines, and drill presses; clean, scribe, and prepare materials and parts as required.
  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of components, sub‑assemblies, assemblies, jigs, fixtures, and mock‑ups using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Perform fitting, trimming, adjusting, forming, and shaping operations on assemblies with irregular contours, angles, and hole patterns, maintaining extremely close tolerances.
  • Identify, review, and resolve discrepancies in drawings, specifications, or work instructions with team members and customer representatives; troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned tools, machines, and equipment, and perform routine preventive maintenance to support operational reliability.
