About The Position

Eaton is seeking a skilled Machinist and Die Repair Specialist to join their team at a manufacturing facility in Washington, PA. This role is integral to maintaining production functionality by repairing complex dies to ensure uninterrupted production of high-quality steel boxes. It is a hands-on position where the successful candidate will see the direct impact of their labor daily. The position offers advanced skill development, particularly in die repair using state-of-the-art equipment, and provides a dynamic and engaging work experience through varied and challenging tasks from precision machining to complex die repairs. Requirements

  • Ability to machine and construct tooling to drawing specifications to meet production need
  • Ability to read, alter CAD drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to use manual lathes, mills, grinders, etc. to fabricate process equipment
  • Familiarity with machining a variety of tool steel material and including D2, A2, and copper

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree related to Tool and Machining or 2 years of machining experience.
  • Experience in building die tooling for stamping/manufacturing processes.
  • Welding TIG/MIG experience
  • Familiarity with steel heat treating process

Responsibilities

  • Monitor one or various production lines and operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures, ensuring smooth production operation during the shift.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to set up and operate machine tools for outlet box construction.
  • Perform precision machining operations, including cutting, drilling, grinding, milling and turning to fabricate parts and components.
  • Inspect and measure machined components to ensure they meet precise specifications.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on dies including disassembling, diagnosing faults, and performing intricate repairs.
  • Specialize in the repair of progressive and compound dies, ensuring they function efficiently and effectively.
  • Modify and adjust dies for new product specifications and enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with dies to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Implement and follow rigorous safety standards and protocols, particularly in handling heavy machinery and sharp tools.
