About The Position

The Senior Technology Specialist role is an exciting opportunity with one of Equitable's Individual Insurance agile teams. This role involves working directly with key leaders to understand business needs and support their strategies with technology solutions. The position will develop and implement technologies that support both internal and external clients, while also providing technical and practice leadership to continuously evolve capabilities and technologies. This role will partner with a cross-functional agile team to develop, test, launch, and refine solutions to optimize the Individual Insurance new business experience, while helping maintain and enhance shared technology solutions and architecture.

Requirements

  • Coding experience in .NET, C#
  • Strong experience with tools and development frameworks such as PowerShell, NPM, VSC, GIT, Docker, K8S
  • Strong experience & understanding in Infrastructure as code applied to DevOps, DevSecOps, cloud security best practices and well architected framework.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web/mobile design and object-oriented programming practices
  • Minimum 5 years experience in IT with multi-domain experience (Insurance domain preferred).
  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering or related discipline.
  • Hands on working knowledge of .NET, C#, PWAs, APIs, Azure DevOps/Cloud, SQL, Design Library Systems, Experience with scrum delivery, Testing Automation and Automating Pipelines.
  • Experience leading other developers on projects; task and priority setting, working with business partners, etc.

  • SQL, KQL is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and unit testing code, delivering on objectives established by business partners.
  • Understanding and adhering to best practices and guidelines, and working with a delivery team to ensure understanding of objectives, requirements and specifications.
  • Supporting the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that provide effective architecture, governance, and management.
  • Performing hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and/or application software.
  • Providing technical leadership for more junior team members, overseeing solution implementation to ensure compliance with security, and governance.
  • Involving others in planning and executing, and in so doing, gaining their buy-in.
  • Completing work outside of normal business hours to meet project deadlines and support weekend implementations.
  • Participating in rotating on-call shifts.
