About The Position

AECOM is hiring a Technology & Security Consultant to work with customers seeking wireless solutions, taking projects from initial survey through implementation and testing. The role works with the wireless team and covers site surveys, iBwave design, RF data collection, system testing, and troubleshooting. The candidate will evaluate coverage and building requirements, prepare customer-specific wireless designs and proposals, verify designs before construction, commission systems, test fiber and wireless systems, analyze results, and recommend solutions to identified issues.

Requirements

BA/BS plus eight years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
iBwave Level 2 or Level 3 certification.
Valid US driver’s license.
Ability to climb fixed ladders that equal or exceed 24 feet and sometimes work in dusty spaces.
Working knowledge of RF principles, antenna theory, and communication theory, including CDMA, EV-DO, UMTS, and LTE.
Experience with wireless OEM equipment and RF engineering analysis tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Complete site surveys to determine coverage and building requirements and identify factors affecting design and installation.
Design wireless systems using iBwave software based on customer needs and survey information.
Draft customer design proposals describing recommended coverage solutions suited to environmental and customer requirements.
Conduct pre-construction walks to verify the design and update it as needed.
Commission and test new systems, including RF data collection using scanners and test equipment.
Test fiber cable using fiber test equipment according to established procedures.
Analyze test data, troubleshoot RF systems, and provide recommendations for identified issues.
Inspect wireless systems for physical issues and analyze active and passive components, including transmitters, amplifiers, splitters, connectors, and cables.
