Responsible for people management functions including but not limited to hiring, on-boarding, resource management, performance reviews, career development and compensation. Develop a high performing and diverse team to achieve high results, meet service level objectives, and consistently deliver against compliance and risk management expectations. Responsible for setting the strategy of the team and goals of individual team members. Oversees execution of team deliverables to ensure all resources are aligned to established governance, compliance, and risk management objectives. Lead the execution of governance, risk, and compliance functions across External Network security products and technologies, including but not limited to firewall, proxy, web content filtering and inspection, and intrusion detection (IDS/IPS). Responsible for running governance and compliance programs supporting external network products, including firewall rule review, entitlements, and configuration management, in partnership with Information Security and Architecture teams to ensure successful outcomes. Ensure network security policy and control compliance across external network products, aligned to enterprise guidelines, baselines, and architectural standards. Collaborate with Global Information Security, Architecture & Engineering teams in the review and adoption of compliance requirements and standards. Drive execution discipline across governance programs, ensuring deliverables such as assessments, remediation activities, and audit commitments are completed within established timelines. Drive continuous improvement, simplification, and automation of existing and new processes by proactively identifying automation opportunities and partnering with automation teams. Develop, document, and maintain processes and procedures in support of governance and compliance programs, including rule review, remediation, entitlements, configuration management, and security services consulting. Develop routines and reporting mechanisms to ensure visibility into compliance posture, risk, and successful delivery of commitments aligned to established deadlines. Partner with senior leadership to translate strategic direction into executable governance and compliance programs. Provide oversight to subordinate leaders responsible for governance and compliance functions across the team. Drive identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks related to external network security controls. Ensure clear and consistent communication of compliance posture, risks, and remediation progress to stakeholders and leadership. Requirements

  • Program and People Management, strong technical background in firewall and proxy administration, and working knowledge of external network and internal network architecture
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience required with at least 5 years of people management and/or technical leadership experience
  • Experience in large and complex enterprise network environments.
  • Ample technical experience within network, network security, cybersecurity or similar technical domains leading engineering, governance, or compliance-driven teams
  • Demonstrated experience leading governance, compliance, or risk management programs with accountability for deliverables and timelines
  • Proven ability to manage and drive execution of complex technical and compliance-related deliverables across multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate complex technical processes and communicate across different levels of the organization including technical, managerial, business executives, and vendors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess risk, identify gaps, and drive resolution
  • Excellent oral and written communications. Must be able to communicate at all organizational levels, including executive management
  • Good understanding of fundamental networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL, DNS, NTP, DHCP, etc.
  • Experience using governance and workflow management tools such as ServiceNow (SNOW), Jira, or similar platforms to manage compliance activities, risk tracking, and remediation workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for the financial industry is a plus
  • Experience managing network or network security compliance, governance, risk functions and/or audits is highly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Experience developing and documenting governance processes, standards, and procedures using tools such as Confluence or similar platforms
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing structured routines and expectations for others
  • Experience building reporting and dashboards to provide visibility into compliance and risk (e.g., Splunk, Excel, Tableau)
  • Understanding of ITIL processes such as request management, change management, incident management and problem management
  • CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Security+, or similar technical certifications are highly desired
