About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Senior Technology Designer in Greenwood Village, CO, to serve as lead designer for large, highly complex projects. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and consultants to provide project leadership, technical solutions, and client guidance while leading engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology (ICT) systems in buildings. You’ll also manage project budgets, lead training and mentoring initiatives, and partner with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required
  • 14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
  • 18 years of experience minimum required, 20 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry
  • Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildings
  • Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Must have the ability to travel up to 50%, including local, domestic, and international travel as needed for business purposes, which may include overnight stays and/or air travel

Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts for IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems
  • Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Perform site assessments and develop technical analyses and reports
  • Partner with clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong working relationships
  • Conduct in-process design reviews and ensure designs meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
  • Provide technical training, mentoring, and field issue support with minimal senior staff oversight
  • Lead research, development, and innovation efforts related to low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering and emerging industry practices
  • Identify and mitigate safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
  • Lead project interviews and project presentations
  • Coordinate, oversee and manage projects ranging in size and complexity. Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients
  • Collaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors / Leaders during the initial stages of project opportunities
  • Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work and fee calculations for proposal generation
  • Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with contract reviews
  • Create project schedules including targets for milestones and deadlines
  • Create monthly billings and submit financial information to Accounting in a timely manner. Update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthly
  • Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards and code requirements. Ensure design milestone deliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality control processes are completed, and construction technical support occurs in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with design staff and coordinate scheduling of projects during all phases of design and construction. Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation.
  • Respond to and resolve client / construction concerns. Manage change orders and obtain appropriate approvals
