About The Position

Microchip has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technician II-Engineering at our facility in Beverly, Massachusetts. This role offers the opportunity to operate in a highly technical and scientific environment, employing a variety of manufacturing and testing techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting product test failures to the component level and determining root causes, generating NCRs for production test issues, supporting Product Engineers in resolving production-related issues, assisting operators with testing and troubleshooting production hardware, performing failure analysis using strong troubleshooting techniques, and operating RF/Microwave test equipment and fixtures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience and a proven track record of excellence in electronics assembly and testing.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
  • Experienced in soldering and cable assembly.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and remain highly organized.
  • Comfortable working with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to fast paced environment.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and process.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in space qualified construction and testing techniques.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in documentation generation, organization, and storage.
  • Candidates are required to provide proof of either US citizenship, Permanent US residency or classification as a protected individual as defined in 8 USC 1324b (a) (3).

Nice To Haves

  • BS/BA in Engineering / Engineering Technology.
  • J-STD Certification (terminals and wires, through hole technology and surface mount technology)
  • Experience in High Precision timing, test, and measurement.
  • Experience with Ultra High Vacuum systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in space qualified construction and testing techniques.
  • Demonstrated RF design capabilities.
  • FPGA programming experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot product test failures to the component level and determine root causes.
