About The Position

DPP is seeking an Engineering Technician II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing industry. This is a 12-month W2 contract role, requiring the candidate to be a US Citizen and work onsite in Oxnard, CA. The role involves providing test and technical support to engineers, executing test plans, analyzing measurement requirements, and contributing to the maintenance of test equipment and infrastructure. The technician will also be responsible for gathering and analyzing technical data, maintaining engineering documentation, and supporting customer needs. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot test problems and provide assistance to manufacturing, inspection, and test engineering. The role may require supporting multiple shifts (1st shift: 7am to 4:45pm, 2nd shift: 2:30pm to Midnight) and involves occasional travel between Oxnard, CA, and Goleta, CA sites, as well as customer support travel (approximately 10%).

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ additional education and/or related experience.
  • 2+ years’ overall experience as a technician in the manufacturing/engineering field
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Experience working with a Microsoft Office product and processing documentation
  • Experience working in Cleanroom Environment and Environmental Test Area
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to work on feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to manipulate equipment weighting up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with working around delicate spacecraft hardware an advantage
  • Certification in engineering disciplines
  • Some college preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide test and technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
  • Execute comprehensive component and system level test plans, procedures and test events
  • Participate in test planning and test readiness reviews
  • Analyze measurement requirements and equipment measurement tolerances
  • Define and maintain documented best practices for test processes and equipment
  • Contribute to maintaining and improving test equipment and infrastructure
  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such component and systems level test results and engineering design changes
  • Conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis.
  • Maintains engineering documentation and reports (procedures and test reports)
  • Support internal and external customers’ needs.
  • Identify, troubleshoot and solve test problems and provide assistance to manufacturing, inspection and test engineering related issues.
  • Analyze data and provide reports in a variety of customers’ format.
  • Support working multiple shifts; i.e.: 1st shift 7am to 4:45pm and 2nd shift 2:30pm to Midnight
  • Ability to travel between Oxnard, CA, and Goleta, CA sites and travel to support customers, and needed, approximately 10%.
