The role hunts, shapes, and wins high-impact opportunities across a broad product portfolio through advanced technical selling, workflow consulting, and market development. Working in collaboration with Central Sales, the specialist drives revenue, product adoption, and strategic opportunity creation. The specialist develops complex new opportunities, designs technical demonstrations and workflow evaluations, shapes technical deal strategy, and contributes technical input to commercial offers and contract terms. The role also supports market and portfolio development and helps ensure a smooth transition from pre-adoption activity to customer use and long-term account management.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of technical sales, applications consulting, or pre-sales experience in a scientific or technical environment.
  • Proven ability to hunt for and influence opportunities, with strong technical depth across broader product portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to shape customer workflows, create value-based narratives, and win competitive deals.
  • Strong communication, consultative selling, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and structured sales processes, with strong documentation discipline.
  • Willingness to travel more than 50%; the role is heavily focused on external customers.
  • Identification with Sartorius's core values: Sustainability, Openness, and Enjoyment.

Responsibilities

  • Hunt and qualify complex new opportunities in assigned markets by identifying whitespace, unmet needs, and high-value prospects not covered by Central Sales.
  • Design and execute advanced technical demonstrations, trials, and workflow evaluations to shape customer requirements and accelerate technical validation.
  • Shape technical deals and competitive positioning by quantifying customer impact, influencing solution configuration, and resolving advanced technical objections.
  • Co-lead commercial offer development with Central Sales by providing data-driven technical input that influences deal structure and closure.
  • Identify emerging use cases, competitive shifts, and workflow trends to inform market and portfolio development, product positioning, and sales acceleration.
  • Support the transition from pre-adoption to post-adoption by stabilizing early usage, resolving technical blockers, and enabling handover to Central Sales for long-term account development.
  • Provide technical input to Central Sales, Business Unit stakeholders, and Legal on technical contract terms and conditions to ensure feasibility, clear scope, reduced delivery risk, and alignment with customer workflows, without assuming commercial ownership.

Benefits

  • Mentoring, leadership programs, and internal seminars.
  • Paid vacation, sick time, corporate holidays, and a community service day.
  • Flexible work schedules.
  • Comprehensive onboarding, including a virtual online platform.
  • International collaboration and supportive workplace communities.
  • Medical plan options, dental and vision coverage, EAP, and wellness programs.
  • Smart buildings with the latest technology and equipment.
  • 401(k) with generous company match.
  • HSA, FSA for dependent care and healthcare spending, and a transportation commuter account.
  • Company-paid basic life insurance, AD&D, EAP, family planning and women’s health benefits, and Health Advocate.
  • Optional supplemental life insurance, legal services, LTD and STD, critical illness insurance, and a student loan tuition refinance service.
