About The Position

1X is building humanoid robots for home use, aiming to automate chores and give people back their time. This involves solving complex challenges in robotics, AI, and manufacturing at scale. The company, founded in 2014, is now shipping its flagship product, NEO, a home robot designed for real-world interaction. 1X is seeking individuals inspired by this mission to join their scaling efforts and contribute to changing how humans spend their time by creating abundance safely. The Talent team at 1X is responsible for building the organization that will develop humanoid robotics. They collaborate with leaders across various departments, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Corporate functions, to find and hire exceptional talent capable of tackling difficult technical and operational challenges. The team recognizes that every hire impacts 1X's culture, technical standards, and mission acceleration. They operate with urgency, high standards, and strong partnerships to ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time. As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Recruiter, your role will be crucial in building the engineering organization responsible for designing and delivering the systems for NEO. You will work closely with hiring managers in mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering to identify top talent, streamline hiring processes, and continuously elevate the team's capabilities with each new hire.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience recruiting mechanical, electrical, hardware, systems, or related engineering talent.
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruiting processes from sourcing through offer acceptance.
  • Experience partnering directly with hiring managers and supporting technical interview processes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting within robotics, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or other hardware-focused industries.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering organizations and systems-level product development.
  • Experience supporting high-growth startup environments.
  • Experience using advanced sourcing techniques and talent market mapping strategies.
  • Experience building recruiting processes, interview frameworks, or talent programs.

  • Deliver high-quality hires across mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering functions while maintaining exceptional candidate and hiring manager experiences.
  • Build and maintain strong talent pipelines that reduce time-to-fill and improve hiring predictability across critical engineering roles.
  • Establish trusted partnerships with engineering leaders and provide data-driven guidance throughout the hiring process.
  • Improve recruiting effectiveness through sourcing innovation, interview calibration, process improvements, and talent market insights.
  • Help ensure hiring decisions consistently align with 1X’s technical standards, organizational needs, and long-term growth objectives.
