About The Position

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) within Amazon’s Selection and Catalog Systems, you will own solutions to a large set of customer-facing product catalog issues that influence critical business processes and product discovery. Our work is at the cutting edge of AI and big data analytics. This role involves processing massive datasets (billions of records, hundreds of TBs) efficiently, running Generative AI solutions at Amazon's scale, improving automated solutions to minimize manual fixes, and ensuring relevant search results for customers. If you are excited about using AI, information retrieval, and cloud computing to solve highly visible, fast-evolving, ambiguous problems, this position is for you.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Scoping and delivering large projects across the Amazon Catalog Systems.
  • Collecting business and systems requirements from internal and external customers.
  • Writing specifications including success criteria.
  • Driving project schedules from design to release.
  • Managing the production launch.
  • Leading and coordinating design/implementation efforts between stakeholders to develop optimal solutions.
  • Making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market.
  • Clearly communicating goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to stakeholders, internal cross-functional and remote project teams.
  • Having end-to-end ownership from defining strategy to measuring metrics and monitoring day-to-day progress of programs.
  • Providing direct visibility to senior leadership on all aspects of programs on a regular cadence.
  • Managing business requirements, design, performance expectations, and goals with all stakeholder teams.
  • Partnering with management to define strategy and build roadmaps for owned projects.
  • Tracking real-time service levels and schedule adherence, ensuring individual stakeholder teams meet and exceed performance targets.
  • Being the primary point of contact for world-wide stakeholders of programs run.
  • Internalizing Amazon’s Leadership Principles and living them into everyday practices to guide programs to success.
