About The Position

Amazon's product catalog is crucial for defining every product, ensuring accurate mapping of listings, preventing defects, and guaranteeing defect-free fulfillment. A new team is being established to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of supply chain catalog data, focusing on challenges like using Large Language Models (LLMs) to validate catalog quality. This initiative aims to reduce operational costs for Selling Partners and Fulfillment Centers while increasing revenue by expanding selection. This is a high-visibility, greenfield opportunity. The Software Development Manager will lead the development of catalog primitives and drive their adoption across Supply Chain Systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguous, high-scale environments, drive cross-functional alignment with Amazon Fulfillment Technology and procurement stakeholders, and deliver structured, governed, and optimized catalog data. This role involves leading a diverse team of Software Development Engineers and partnering with Program and Product Management to define and execute strategic roadmaps for Amazon's supply chain catalog data.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
