About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet globally. The Leo Production Engineering Platforms (LPEP) team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the development of software platforms essential for satellite construction. These platforms serve as the critical link between Leo's internal business units (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, security, compliance) and external contract manufacturing partners. They provide the necessary systems, automation, and tools for large-scale, on-time, and specification-compliant satellite production. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of platform programs focused on manufacturing execution, traceability, automated test orchestration, and security/compliance tooling. You will collaborate with engineering leaders and Principal Engineers to define the long-term roadmap and then execute program management responsibilities, including scoping, sequencing, dependency management, risk tracking, and ensuring alignment across software, hardware, manufacturing, operations, networking, supply chain, launch, compliance, and security teams. This is a highly technical position requiring a deep understanding of integrated hardware and software systems to challenge designs, identify trade-offs, and translate technical decisions into business outcomes for senior leadership. You will also engage directly with third-party contract manufacturing technical teams to address their real-world challenges, ensuring platform investments solve actual production constraints and that decisions are clear, documented, and lasting.

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end delivery of platform programs supporting Leo's satellite production lifecycle, from incoming materials through integration, test, and launch readiness.
  • Partner with engineering leaders and Principal Engineers to shape roadmaps, sequence investments against constrained capacity, and make build-vs-buy trade-offs.
  • Establish the planning, status, and risk-management mechanisms that keep cross-org programs on track and escalate trade-offs early.
