Nordstrom•Seattle, WA
•$142,000 - $220,500•Hybrid

About The Position

Nordstrom’s Security Platform Engineering team is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to serve as the operational backbone of its security engineering organization. The role sits at the intersection of program execution, stakeholder relationships, and cross-organizational influence. The team covers endpoint detection, email security, data encryption, network security, compliance engineering, and security assessments, and is in an active growth phase involving a new domain launch, multiple engineering hires, and platform ownership transitions. The role owns end-to-end program management across security domains, coordinates cross-functional partners, and drives alignment and decisions in forums where the security team may not have direct authority. It establishes program rhythms, tracks platform OKRs and KPIs, supports engineering onboarding and knowledge transfer, identifies risks, and partners with the Manager on restructuring, hiring coordination, and leadership communications.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience in technical program management, preferably within a security, infrastructure, or platform engineering organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex, multi-workstream programs from scoping through delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build trust with senior engineering leaders, risk and compliance partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience driving cross-organizational alignment without direct authority and moving decisions forward in forums where the role does not own the outcome.
  • Proven ability to define, track, and report on OKRs and KPIs, translating platform and program health into clear, actionable leadership insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving team scope.
  • Familiarity with security domain concepts sufficient to ask relevant questions and understand technical trade-offs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting a security engineering or security operations team.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar program management tools.
  • Experience managing contractor-to-FTE transitions or team restructuring programs.
  • Background in retail, e-commerce, or large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end program management across security domains, tracking deliverables, managing dependencies, and keeping work moving without requiring manager escalation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional partners across Risk, Compliance, Engineering, and Business teams on security program initiatives.
  • Drive alignment and decisions in cross-organizational forums where the security team does not hold direct authority.
  • Build and maintain program rhythms, including sprint cadences, status reporting, roadmap tracking, and stakeholder updates.
  • Develop and maintain OKRs and KPIs across security platforms, tracking platform health, delivery progress, and team performance metrics for monthly leadership reporting.
  • Support onboarding of new engineering hires by managing ramp plans, platform handoff timelines, and knowledge-transfer logistics.
  • Identify and surface risks early, with a bias toward resolution rather than escalation.
  • Partner with the Manager on team restructuring execution, hiring coordination, and leadership-facing communications.

Benefits

  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage.
  • Retirement benefits, including a 401(k).
  • Paid time away, PTO accruals, and holidays.
  • Life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Merchandise discount.
  • Employee Assistance Program resources.
  • May be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
